Magnus POV
Magnus Bane walked with catlike elegance as he approached the angry mob before him. Never in all his many years alive had he observed such incompetence as this. A hint of a smile played on his face but not a smile that reached his eyes.
He looked at the poor, helpless Shadowhunters and rambunctious demons surrounding him. As he began to leave this disastrous scene, a small figure in the distance caught his catlike eye.
There stood the boy who he had been searching for, Alexander Lightwood. At the moment, Alec was in the midst of battle with a bizarre-looking demon. The demon had venomous talons and was plunging at Alec's throat.
With a swift flick of the wrist, Magnus reduced the venomous demon to ashes.

"Magnus?"
"Hmm?"
Alec leaned his head farther back into Magnus' shoulder, playing idly with the warlock's fingers that were splayed across his stomach. They were lying on the couch, the color of which Magnus had changed to an inky blue since Alec loathed pink.
Magnus was half-propped up against the armrest with Alec lying between his legs, the Shadowhunter's head and shoulders on Magnus' broad chest. His heartbeat, markedly slower than a human's, thudded gently beneath Alec's ear.
"Where is your accent from?"
Magnus paused for long enough that Alec craned his neck to look up at him. Magnus wore a bemused expression, his eyes twinkling.

I spotted him in the crowd, his hair pulled back out of his face, wearing fighting gear. His eyes were lined with sparkling black eyeliner, but except this his face was void of any makeup. I knew it was him before I even took all of his features into account.
"There's Magnus!" I exclaimed, pushing my way towards him, leaving Simon and Isabelle alone in the crowd. As I left, I heard the two of them whispering behind me, but I did not care.
"Magnus!" I hollered, nearing the warlock, who turned, a look of almost surprise on his face that was calmed very quickly.
"Alexander." He spoke.
"It's Alec." I corrected him, and did not let him respond
